History

The school was established in 1970. The school enrolls students in transitional-kindergarten through twelfth grade and is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and by the Southern Association of Independent Schools. With an enrollment of over 800 students in Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade, Greensboro Day School is one of the largest nonsectarian independent schools in the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina.

Notable Attendees

Bruce Woodall a graduate in 2008 plays on the University of Virginia Men's Golf team. Woodall was all-state four times, all-conference four times, he led the state of North Carolina in stroke average at 71 including four rounds in the 60's, and was the 2008 conference player of the year. Woodall was a basketball standout as well. He was an all-state selection in 2008, team MVP in 2008, won a state title in 2006, was recruited by many Division 1 programs, and compiled 2,152 career points.
